pink

  • This little cutie was made using a free design by Moda, and I made it using some pieces from a layer cake I had in my stash.  It is not very big, but would be perfect for a floor mat for a baby, or as a pram or bassinette cover.  Lovely first quilt.
  • I have a boy child.  No pink quilts allowed!  So I have a lot of fun when designing and making very pink quilts.  So pink they make your teeth hurt - haha.  This is a very simple but effective pattern and shows all the lovely fabrics in their pinkness.  The quilting shows the love with lots of hearts.  I love all my quilts, but this one makes me happy. Perfect as a gift for a new baby, can be put on the floor for them, or it can be hung on the wall.  You will need a rod pocket to hang it though, let me know and I can put one on for you. It is also big enough to go over the back of the lounge and a (smallish) snuggle quilt.  Able to be washed easily and put on the line.  Very usable. I hope you like it.
  • I have been collecting cupcake fabrics for a while now and thought it was about time I made the quilt.  It was fun to make and would be a fun gift for a cupcake lover, or to brighten up a room.
  • Evangeline - I looked up the meaning of this baby name and it means "good news, bringer of good news".  People with this name tend to be orderly, a bit like the crosses in this quilt.  (Thanks Kate for the quilt name :)).  The crosses are described as modern vintage, I used modern fabrics, making them into traditional blocks of crosses and hourglasses. The fabrics are from my stash of pinks, watermelons, salmons and deep berry colours.  Perfect size for a single bed, or as a topper for a larger bed.  You could also hang it on the wall, though it will need a rod pocket.
